Mabel Sewall Cox, 94, a resident of Cross Creek Health Care Center, Swan Quarter died Sunday May 13, 2012.
Born in Hyde County, October 27, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Claud and Cora Adams Sewall. She was married to Malcolm Cox who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Swan Quarter Christian Church. She served as a full time volunteer at Cross Creek Health Care Center and was the recipient of the Governor's Volunteer Service Award.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 16 at 11:00 a.m. the Swan Quarter Christian Church. Sonny Furrow will officiate. Burial will follow at Soule Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Sadler, Bryce Sadler, Richard Sadler, Norm Sadler, Justin Williams and Hunter Corey.
Surviving are two daughters, Christene C. Sadler and husband Travis of Washington, NC and Dale Scott-Lamm and husband Johnny of Moncks Corner, SC; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers Keith Sewall and Sam Sewall; a sister Peggy S. Payne.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Swan Quarter Christian Church Fellowship Hall.
