CARL R. ALEXANDER
April 2, 1940 – March 24, 2018
Carl Ray Alexander, 77, of 392 N. C. 45-South, Plymouth, died early Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Roanoke Landing Nursing and Rehabilitation, Plymouth following a lengthy illness.
Born in Tyrrell County, April 2, 1940, he was the son of the late Abram Lewis and Maggie Ruth Woodard Alexander. He was married to the former Mary Louise Patrick who survives. He was a member of Plymouth Church of Christ and spent his working years with Weyerhauser Corp. as a boiler operator prior to his retirement. He was a mason and member of Perseverance Lodge #59 and the Sudan Temple as a Shriner.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Plymouth Church of Christ. Jay Hardison and Bob Moulden will officiate. Burial, with Masonic Rites, will follow in Azalea Memorial Gardens in Columbia.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three daughters, Paula A. Willis and husband, Gene of Plymouth, Carla A. Forbes and husband, Earnest Forbes of Savannah, GA and Julie A. Smith and husband, Wade of Williamston; grandchildren, Joshua Roughton, Colleen Roughton, Allison Patrick, Ernest Smith, Amanda Rhodes, Joshua Forbes and Aaron Forbes; great-grandchildren, Jesica Roughton, Jacob Roughton, Gracelynn Roughton, Ashlee Horton, Axxon Patrick and Sophia Forbes.
Mr. Alexander was also preceded in death by a grandson, Seth Duncan Forbes.
The family request that memorials be directed to Shriner’s NC Jaycee Burn Center, 101 Manning Drive, CB#7600 Chapel Hill NC 27599-7600.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Service at Hampton Academy, 108 W. Main Street, Plymouth and other times at the home or at Roanoke Landing.
