DAN W. SPRUILL

Dan Wesley Spruill, 70, of 3543 Pea Ridge Road, Roper, died on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at his residence.
Born in Tyrrell County, N. C. on July 1, 1948, he was the son of the late George Wardell and Ina Marie Norman Spruill. He was married to Virginia Gail Alexander Spruill who survives. He was a member of Scuppernong Church of Christ and Albemarle Hunting Club. He loved hunting and fishing and caring for his horses and cows. He was a retired technician with Coca Cola Bottling Company.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Scuppernong Church of Christ. Edgar Masencup and Bob Moulden will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Danny Spruill and wife, Emilou of Roper; two step-sons, David Durwood Armstrong and wife, Edith of Columbia and Grady James Armstrong and wife, Lori of Columbia; two daughters, Tammy Spruill of Edenton and Carrie Hernandez and husband, Max of Washington; a step-daughter, Linda Armstrong Garrett and husband, Timothy Wayne of Columbia; a brother, Rudy Spruill and wife, Sandra of Chesapeake, VA; three sisters, Phyllis Peele and husband, Jimmy of Plymouth, Wanda Ayers and husband, Billy of Greenville and Elaine Furlough of Roper; 19 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Crystal Spruill Phelps.
The family will receive friends at the church during the hour prior to the funeral on Monday and other times at the home.
