Howard Landise Cutrell, 75, of Engelhard, died Saturday, June 15, 2019 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Howard was bon in Hyde County, January 27, 1944 to the late Benjamin D. and Mable Rose Cuthrell. He was married to the former Jo Ellen Gibbs who preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Engelhard Christian Church. Mr. Howard was an U.S. Army Veteran, worked as a carpenter, a commercial fisherman and later retired from the maintenance department with the Hyde County Public School System.

Howard enjoyed fishing, playing music and hanging at “Jesse’s”. He lived his life quietly, modestly, and enjoyed spending quality time with his family and drinking coffee.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Engelhard Christian Church. Pastor Andy Edge and Father C. Berkley Ford will officiate. A private burial will follow in the family plot in Fulford Cemetery.

Surviving are two sons, Landise Cutrell and wife, Crystal of Engelhard and Marcus Cutrell and wife, Monica of Moyock; four grandchildren, Benjamin F. Cutrell, Leia J. Cutrell, Bradley N. Cutrell, Jase M. Cutrell as well as several nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, D. Wesley Cuthrell and Nicky W. Cutrell.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

The family would like to thank the staff of Amedysis Hospice and Marion L. Sheppard Cancer Center.
