KATHY R. SPENCER
July 20, 1949 – November 3, 2016

Kathy Marie Roughton Spencer, 67, of 2540 N. C. Highway 94-South, Columbia, died Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

Born in Tyrrell County, July 20, 1949, she was the daughter of Alease Brickhouse Roughton and the late Junious Lee Roughton. She was married to Lincoln Vernon Spencer, Jr. who preceded her in death. Mrs. Spencer was a retired program assistant with Farm Service Agency, formerly A.S.C.S. in Tyrrell County. She was a member of Sandy Acres Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Sandy Acres Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. Ashley Browder and Rev. Joseph Wynns will officiate. Burial will follow in Soundside Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Lincoln Vernon Spencer, III and wife, Stephanie of Greenville; a daughter, Michelle Spencer Isenhour and husband, Jake of Greenville; a brother, Mark Roughton of Columbia; two sisters, Julie R. Hollowell of Edenton and Maxine S. Barbour of Georgia; grandchildren, Jacob Isenhour, Tyler Spencer and Grace Ann Isenhour.

The family suggests that memorials may be directed to American Diabetes Association, 2418 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh NC 27607.

The family will receive friends at Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia Chapel, on Saturday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and other times at the home.
