WILLIAM A. "Billy" COX
January 21, 1935 – November 3, 2016

William Arthur "Billy" Cox, 81, of 330 Albemarle Church Road, Columbia, died Thursday evening, November 3, 2016, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

Born in Tyrrell County, January 21, 1935, he was the son of the late John Jones and Lucille Brickhouse Cox. He was married to the former Matilda Furlough who survives.

He worked as a logger through his working years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors and appreciated farming.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Albemarle Church of Christ. Raffael Farrow, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow at the family plot in the church cemetery

Surviving in addition to his wife of 63 years, are two sons, William Arthur "Art" Cox, Jr. and wife, Terri of Absecon NJ and Larry E. Cox of Raleigh; a daughter, Cathy Cox Moore and husband, Bill of Greenville; a sister, Sue C. Brickhouse and husband, Larry of Columbia; three grandchildren, Paul M. Cox, Brian A. Cox and Caitlin L. Moore; three great-grandchildren.

The family suggest that memorials be directed to Albemarle Church of Christ, P. O. Box 856, Columbia NC 27925.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia.
