Cynthia Ann Ludford Shute, 68, native of Tyrrell County and long time resident of Elizabeth City died Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Sentara Nursing Center-Currituck in Barco.

Born in Tyrrell County, N.C. on December 10, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Ephraim L. and Mildred Dodge Ludford. She was married to the late Edgar J. Shute who preceded her in death. She spent her working years as a cosmetologist and was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Elizabeth City.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Bryan Funeral Service-Columbia Chapel. Steve Bryan will officiate. Burial will be private in Columbia Christian Church Cemetery.

Surviving are a daughter, Shelly Ann Williams of Colville, WA; two brothers, Shelton S. Ludford and Aubrey Ludford and wife, Anne all of Columbia; two sisters, Polly Dillard and husband, Ron of Trinity and Rachel Lilley and husband, Alton of Washington; a grandson, David Brice of Elizabeth City.

The family suggests that memorials be directed to Columbia Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, P. O. Box 604, Columbia NC 27925.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service on Saturday.
