April Furlough Guthrie, 38, of 2018 N. C. Highway 45, Swan Quarter, died on Monday, December 7,, 2015 at Vidant In-Patient Hospice in Greenville after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Chowan County, August 7, 1977, she was the daughter of Elaine S. Furlough of Roper and the late David Michael Furlough. She was married to Luther Melton Guthrie who survives. She was a graduate of Creswell High School Class of 1995, attended College of the Albemarle and worked for 14 years with the Washington County Sheriff's Department and Hyde County Sheriff's Department as telecommunicator and administrator. She was a member of Rose Bay Church of Christ.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. Phil Emmert and Thomas Patrick will officiate. Burial will follow in Soule Cemetery at Swan Quarter.

Surviving in addition to her mother and husband are a son, Michael Arnold of the home; a sister, Penny F. Chapman and husband, John of Creswell; a special nephew, Connor.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday evening between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia Chapel.
