Clen Ashley Ballance
March 25, 1949 – February 24, 2024

Clen "Ashley" Ballance, 74 years old, of Fairfield, died February 24, 2024, at home.

Born March 25, 1949, he was the son of the late Clen and Jean Ballance.  He graduated from Mattamuskeet High School in 1967, and NC State University in 1971.

Surviving are three brothers:  Kirby Ballance and wife Angela, Keith Ballance, all of Fairfield and Kevin Ballance and wife Julie of Columbia, SC; two nieces, Cameron B. Tuomi (Mikko) of Charlotte, NC and Kelsey B. Padgett (Zane) of Charleston, SC; two nephews, Randall Ballance of Wilmington, NC and Matt Ballance of Providence, Rhode Island; two grand-nieces Kate M. Tuomi and Sofie M. Tuomi of Charlotte, NC; and two grand-nephews, Labin Ballance of Belhaven, NC and Wells Padgett of Charleston, SC.  He is also survived by three aunts, Sandra P. Bryan of Springfield, VA; Sharon P. Spencer & Joyce B. Jones, both of Fairfield, NC; two uncles, Allan Ballance and Graham Spencer, also both of Fairfield, as well as numerous cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rita J. Franklin, 1695 North Lake Road, Fairfield, NC 27826, for the Fairfield Community Fund.

Funeral services will be held at a later date.  Burial will be in the family plot in the Fairfield Cemetery, at that time.  The family will receive relatives and friends following the burial service at 450 North Lake Road, Fairfield, NC.
