Barbara VanEssendelft
December 12, 1942 - April 11, 2021

Barbara VanEssendelft entered into her Sabbath rest on the Lord's Day, April 11, 2021, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

She was predeceased by her first husband, the Rev. James Routszong; and she is survived by her second husband, Lawrence VanEssendelft; her daughter Dawn and her husband Warren, son Stephen and his wife Rosemary, son Philip and his wife Miranda; her step-son Matthew and his wife Rebecca, and step-son Mark and his wife Carla; and numerous grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brother Michael Dickmann and his wife Karen, brother-in-law Alex Routszong, and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and brother-in-law George Johnston.

Funeral arrangements are by Bryan Funeral Service,119 Main St., Swan Quarter, NC, Flowers may be sent to Bryan Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, at Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 130 Market St., New Bern, with the Rev. Dan Fincham officiating. Graveside service will immediately follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park, 900 River Rd., New Bern.
