Barbara Kay H. Watson
May 6, 1954 – December 3, 2025

Barbara Kay Howard Watson, 71, of Swan Quarter, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville.

Barbara Howard Watson was born in Beaufort County on May 6, 1954, to the late Curtis and Zelma McKinney Howard.  She married Hugh H. Watson, who survives.

Barbara was a graduate of the former Atlantic Christian College in Wilson.  She was an active member of West Belhaven Church of Christ. She did outreach ministry at Cross Creek Health Care Center with the Swan Quarter Baptist Church and taught Bible and Ball at O.A. Peay School Gym. She loved to garden and had numerous flowerbeds.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the West Belhaven Church of Christ.  James Scheffler will officiate. Interment will follow at the family cemetery in Swan Quarter.

She is survived by her husband, Hugh Watson; two sisters, JoAnn H. Tetterton (Gregory) of Swan Quarter, Pat Howard of Putnam, NY; eight nephews, Brian Gibbs, Kevin Gibbs, Jon Michael Gibbs, Neil Gibbs, Cody Gibbs, Lance Jennings, Eric Jennings, and Chase Jefferson; and two nieces, Tabethen Gibbs and Cheyenne Jefferson.
