BILLY T. THOMPSON
November 18, 1939 – February 2, 2017

Billy Talmadge Thompson, 77, of 674 White Oak Road, Plymouth, died Thursday evening, February 2, 2017 at his residence.

Born in Newton Grove, Sampson County, N. C. on November 18, 1939, he was the son of the late Ira and Isabel Watkins Thompson. He was first married to Peggy Vester Thompson who preceded him in death.

Billy was the founder, owner and operator of Sentry Exterminating Company of Plymouth for 43 years, he was a private pilot, a member of the local board of Southern Bank, a member of Plymouth Flying Club, a proud sponsor of Relay for Life and a member of First Baptist Church of Plymouth.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p. m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of Plymouth. Rev. Jimmy Hagwood will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.

His survivors include his wife, Judy House Thompson; three sons, Terry Thompson and wife, Susan of Plymouth, Ronnie Thompson and wife, Teresa of Roper, Joseph Thompson and wife, Sherry of Clayton; a daughter, Margie T. Gurkin and husband, Wynne of Wilson; a brother, Glenn Thompson and wife, Nora of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Scott Thompson, Laura T. Barber and husband , Nolan, Cameron Gurkin, Olivia Gurkin, Trent Thompson and Nicholas Thompson; step grandchildren Jonathan Gurkin, Matthew Gurkin, Jennifer Simons and husband, Matthew, Jason Edwards and wife Ericka and special caregiver and friend Jackie Clagon

Mr. Thompson was also preceded in death by siblings, Daniel Ray Thompson, Emmett Thompson, Alvin Thompson, Jerry Thompson and Louise T. Moss.

The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Plymouth on Saturday evening, 6 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and other times at the home.

Arrangements are by Bryan Funeral Service at Hampton Academy, 108 W. Main Street, Plymouth.
