Chrystal D. Sawyer
June 1, 1973 – August 9, 2020

Chrystal Dawn Sawyer, 47 of Columbia, died, unexpectedly Sunday, August 9, 2020, at her home.

Chrystal was born in Chowan County on June 1, 1973, to the late Ronnie Marvin Sawyer and Carla Litchfield Sawyer who survives.

She loved to do yard work, cooking with her aunt Cindy, enjoyed reading, and spending time with her beloved Swiffer.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 13, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. in the Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia Chapel. Rev. Royce Reynolds will officiate.

A private burial will follow at Azalea Memorial Gardens.

In addition to her mother surviving is a step-grandmother, Mrs. Genevieve Litchfield of Columbia, two aunts, Cindy Fleming of Columbia, Barbara S. Everett, and husband Terry of Columbia, two cousins, Andrea Everett, and Brian Fleming.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Mr. Marvin and Mrs. Elsie Brickhouse Sawyer, maternal grandparents, Mr. Clyde F. Litchfield, and Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Simmons and one uncle, Sidney Litchfield.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
