CLARA FAYE G. LANE
November 12, 1949 – June 23, 2017

Clara Faye Gibbs Lane, 67, of 3703 Camp Leach Road, Washington, died at her home on Friday, June 23, 2017.

Born in Beaufort County, she was the daughter of Vergie Williams Jones and the late Benjamin Alonzo Gibbs, Sr. She spent her working years working as a waitress in various restaurants in the area, including the former Western Steer in Plymouth.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Tuesday at the Gibbs Family Cemetery on North Lake Road, Fairfield, in Hyde County. Steve Bryan and Preston Spencer will officiate.

Surviving are her mother, Vergie Williams Gibbs Jones of the home; a son, Lewis W. Lane of Chocowinity; a brother, Benjamin A. Gibbs, Jr of Fairfield; four sisters, Betty G. Cherry, Marie G. Meekins and Blondie G. Marshlender all of Washington and Teresa G. Hewitt of Elizabeth City; two grandsons, Marshall Lane and Skylar Lane.

The family will visit with friends following the funeral service and other times at the home.
