Daisy Mae Alexander Armstrong, 69, of 513 Walker Street, Roper, died Monday, December 5, 2016, at Washington County Hospital.

Born in Washington Couinty, December 27, 1946, she was the daughter of Normal Flynn Alexander and the late Warren Alexander. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cannious Alton Armstrong. She worked as a cook during her working years at several different area restaurants including the former Red Apple at Roper, Ginger Bread Bakery in Plymouth, the former Hardee's of Plymouth and the former Copper Kettle Restaurant in Creswell.
A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Bryan Funeral Service, Hampton Academy Chapel. Burial will follow in the family plot in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Bob Moulden will officiate.

Surviving are her mother, Normal Flynn Alexander of Edenton; two sons, C. Allen Armstrong of Plymouth and Charles Armstrong of Roper; a daughter, Rebecca Armstrong of East Lake; five brothers, Floyd Alexander and Leroy Alexander both of Edenton, Warren Alexander of Elizabeth City, Timmy Alexander of Hertford and Billy Joe Alexander; four sisters, Linda Spear and Becky Spear both of Creswell, Teresa Hayes of Edenton and Tena Jones of Hertford; four grandchildren, Cody Armstrong, Josh Armstrong, Ashley Leach and Treyana Nicole Spruill; three great-grandchildren, Mason Leach, Savanah Leach and Katniss Leach; one soon expected great-grandchild, Bentley Armstrong.

The family will receive friends on Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at Bryan Funeral Service at Hampton Academy, Plymouth before processing to the cemetery for the service.
