Edna P. Fortescue
March 13, 1939 – September 10, 2026

Edna Pittman Fortescue, 87, formerly of Scranton, NC, and most recently of Washington, NC, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital.

Ms. Edna was born on March 13, 1939, to the late Earl and Annie Laura Williams Pittman. She was married to Frank Wahab Fortescue, Jr., who preceded her in death.

Ms. Edna is survived by a daughter, Laura F. Willis (Rocky) of Washington, two grandchildren, Vincent B. Berry, II (Jennifer Hemphill) of Durham, Nick Klapp (Nikki) of Washington; one great-grandchild, Delaney Klapp; one sister, Peggy Adams Sawyer of Stokes; and two brothers, Larry Pittman (Felina) of Pinetown and Alfred Pittman of Scranton.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Lucy Hope Fortescue and Dottie F. O'Neal; a brother, Milton Pittman; and a sister, Annie Mae Jennette.
