Evelyn Clark Mooney
February 23, 1930 – January 17, 2019

Evelyn Clark Mooney, 88, of Fairfield, died, Thursday, January 17, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Evelyn was born in Hyde County, February 23, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Randolph and Mary Meredith Howard Clark.  Following the death of her father, she was reared by her stepfather Guy Cuthrell who preceded her in death. She was married to Clifton Hudson Mooney who also preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Fairfield Christian Church. Affectionately known as "Na Na", she was a good, hard working Christian woman, and a good neighbor to her community who loved everyone and enjoyed high school sports.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Fairfield Christian Church. Steve Bryan will officiate. Inurnment will follow at a later date.

Surviving are three daughters, Meredith M. Nicholson, Lora M. Byrd both of Fairfield and Holly M. Zuger and husband, Warren of Gloucester, VA; five grandchildren, Hannah Byrd, Crews Mooney, Libby Mooney, Brooke Baynor and Chase Mooney; two great grandchildren, Meredith Grace Woolard and Tatum Woolard; two sisters, Margie Presley of Daytona Beach, FL and Jane Babb of Raleigh, NC.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son Clark Mooney.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Fairfield Christian Church, Fairfield Fire Department or a charity of choice.
