Evelyn C. Cahoon Spruill
August 29, 1929 – June 24 2016

Evelyn Cartwright Cahoon Spruill, 86, of 125 Pamela Street, Plymouth died Friday, June 24, 2016, at Roanoke Landing Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Born in Tyrrell County, August 29, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Marion and Carrie Virginia Berry Cartwright. She was first married to Preston Randolph Cahoon who preceded her in death. She later married Ervin Ray Spruill who also preceded her in death. She was assistant manager of Hardee's of Plymouth prior to their closing.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in Zion's Chapel Church of Christ. Mark Wilmoth will officiate and burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.

Surviving are a son, Clarence Randolph (Randy) Cahoon of Plymouth; four daughters, Teresa C. Swain & husband, George of Plymouth, Elaine C Pritchett of Jamesville, Rita C. Carnell & husband, Joe of Jamesville and Gina C. Risco & husband, Joe of Plymouth; a brother, Murray Cartwright & wife, Mamie of Kilkenny; twelve grandchildren, Jeremy Ambrose, Kristi A. Clark, Anya S. Mattingly, Candace S. Woolard, Heather P. Lister, Jana Griffith, Deirdire C. Molnar, Amanda C. White, Carrie C. Hernandez, Juanita A. Davenport, Ray Alligood and Rebecca Carnell; 24 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Spruill was preceded in death by two sisters, Marion Cartwright and Inez Cartwright.

The family will receive friends on Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. at the church until the hour of the funeral and other times at the home.

Arrangements are being handled by Bryan Funeral Service at Hampton Academy, Plymouth.
