Faye (Woodard) Sawyer
April 9, 1943 – July 29, 2022

Faye Sawyer, 79, of Columbia, died, Friday, July 29, 2022, at her home.

Faye was born in Tyrrell County on April 9, 1943, to the late John and Hazel Chambers Woodard.  She was married to Guy Sawyer who survives.

She worked as an accounting technician for the Tyrrell County Government. She and Guy dated for five years prior to being married for fifty-six years; being together for a total of sixty-one years – a true testament to their love and devotion to each other.

A visitation will be held at Bryan Funeral Service from 7:00 – 9:00 pm on Saturday, July 30, 2022.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the Soundside Missionary Baptist Church with Charlie Rice officiating.  Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

In addition to her husband surviving, are a daughter, Stacy S. White and husband Travis of Conway, NC; granddaughter Kayla White of Conway, NC; her sister, Debbie Simmons (Hal) of Columbia, and sister-in-law, Betty Jo Woodard of Columbia; nieces and nephews:  Jonathan Simmons, Scott Woodard (Jessica), Heath Woodard; and great niece and nephew: Laney Woodard and Easton Woodard.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Woodard.
