Glenda W. Mahlkuch
December 20, 1943 – November 9, 2016

Glenda Watson Mahlkuch, mother, grandmother, sister, died peacefully, Wednesday November 9, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Norfolk, VA. December 20, 1943, she was the daughter of the late William H. Watson and Merdie Ballance Williams. She was married to Duane W. Mahlkuch who preceded her in death.

She was a member of the former Fairfield Baptist Church, she worked as a telecommunicator for the County of Hyde and later as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Mrs. Glenda was loved by many people, her children and grandchildren were very special to her. She was known for her baking, especially her wedding cakes.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Fairfield Christian Church. Pastor Russ Howard will officiate. Burial will follow at the family plot in Fairfield Cemetery.

Surviving are two sons, Dee Glenn Lloyd of Lancaster, SC, Charles Herina and wife Jennifer of Swan Quarter; three daughters, Angela Roberson and husband Clay of Lancaster, SC, Dawn Wescoat and husband Elwood of Buxton, Colleen Freye and husband Rob of Buxton; two brothers, William Watson and wife Carol of Roanoke Rapids, Joey Williams and wife Diana of Fairfield,; two sisters, Carolyn Land of Oswego, Ill and Sue Mann and husband Tom of Fairfield; four step sons, Rob Mahlkuch, Mike Mahlkuch, Lavernn Mahlkuch and Sam Mahlkuch; a step daughter, Judy Mahlkuch; eight grandchildren, Adriana Simpson and husband Kevin, Ashley Lloyd, Billie Herina, Christopher Lloyd, Hayley Hancock, Jeffrey Wescoat, Hobson Freye, Kai Wescoat; nine step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Ernie Nelson Watson and wife, Frances.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm at Bryan Funeral Service, Swan Quarter.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 442, Hatteras, NC 27943.
