Hilda S. O'Neal
February 8, 1943 – February 19, 2019

Hilda Sawyer O'Neal, 76, of Fairfield, died, Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at Cross Creek Health Care Center, Swan Quarter.

Born on February 8, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Becton and Aleen Pegram Sawyer. She was married to Mr. Basil O'Neal who survives

She was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. Affectionately known as "Bubba" she loved to laugh and joke with family and friends. She was a devoted homemaker who loved to read her bible, she had a special gift for touching people's life.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. Steven Mills and Raffael Farrow, Jr. will officiate.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In addition to her husband surviving is a daughter, Amy O. Williams of Greenville; two sons, Jason O'Neal and wife, Meagan of Sanford, Todd Nickelsberg and wife Rose of Pennsylvania; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Roger Milton Sawyer of Plymouth and two sisters, Doris S. Phelps of Manteo and Jane S. Lee of Jacksonville.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Forrest Sawyer, Luther Sawyer, Sterling Sawyer, Murel Sawyer and a sister, Alice S. Sadler.
