Hugh Max Bartell
December 7, 1958 – February 3, 2022

Hugh Max Bartell, 63, of Kilkenny community, died Thursday, February 3, 2022, at his home.

Max was born in Tyrrell County on December 7, 1958, to the late William Bert and Elsie Lucille McClenny Bartell.  He married the former Clara Ann Twiddy who survives.

He worked as a commercial fisherman and loved each day he was able to be out on the water fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Hugh Max Bartell, Jr. of Fairfield; brothers:  Michael Bartell (Martha) of Engelhard, Billy Bartell of Beaufort, NC, and Timmy Bartell of Florida; and sisters: Mary Bartell of Fairfield, Carla Bartell of Jacksonville, NC and Sharon Bartell of Florida; as well as several nieces and nephews.
