Iris E. Berry
May 7, 1942 – September 22, 2023

Iris Corine Edwards Berry, 81, of Creswell, died, on Friday, September 22, 2023, at ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

She was born in Washington County on May 7, 1942, to the late Mitchell E. and Myrtle Rae Roberson Edwards. She was married to Stephen A. Berry, Jr. who preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Cherry Church of God.  She worked for the Franklinton County and Washington County Public School System.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Soule Cemetery in Swan Quarter. Pastor David Phelps will officiate.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Surviving are three sons, Stephen A. Berry, III., of Mt. Airy, Bryan L. Berry of Fuquay Varina, Theron D. Berry of Alabama; one daughter, Iris Cynthia "Cindy" Dickerson of Franklinton, NC; one brother, Leslie Edwards of Roper; one sister, Rose Edwards of Creswell and eleven grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kelly Edwards, and Paul Edwards.

Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions can be made to Cherry Church of God.
