Janet R. Swain
March 3, 1942 – July 6, 2021

Janet Roughton Swain, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, after a long illness.  She was born March 3, 1942, to Herbert B. and Gladys Cooper Roughton, who preceded her in death.  She was married to Dennis William Swain, Sr. who also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her three children, Dawn Swain Beasley (Wayne) of Garner, NC; Patsy C. Swain and Dennis W. Swain, Jr (Buddy) (Susan) of Columbia, NC.  She is also survived by ten very loved grandchildren, Ashley Beasley Price (Jonathan), Brien Tarkington (Crystal), Robbie Beasley (Kristi), Matthew Swain (Rebekah), Luke Swain (Tiffanie), Hannah Crist (AJ), Dennis Liverman (Coral), Grace Jones (Kyle), JonMark Swain and Lydia Jo Swain and 11 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother, Pat Roughton (Mozella).

Janet worked many years for Swain's Clover Farm and was part owner of Cohoon Oil & Gas, later as CrossRoads Fuel,  where she also worked many years. She loved her dogs and had a huge green thumb with all her beautiful flowers. She will always be remembered and loved for her spunky sassy opinionated self.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 10, 2021, at the funeral home.

A private service will be held at Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia.
