John Fentress Jethro, 89, of Lake City, FL, died Saturday, January 28, 2017 in his home in Lake City, FL.

John Fentress was born July 04, 1927 in Washington County, NC to John Henry and Essie Dean Davenport Jethro. John Fentress was retired from Waste Management, Pompano FL facility as Route Supervisor.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby Ray Jethro, Russell Jethro and James Harold Jethro and one sister, Iva Dean Sawyer.

John Fentress is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret Dail Jethro; sons, John Jethro, Jr and his wife, Vicki of Raleigh NC; Rev. Jay Jethro and his wife, Frances of Gainesville, FL; granddaughter; Virginia Jethro Burke and her husband Keith of Wake Forest, NC; grandsons, Jonathan Jethro and Joseph Jethro of Gainesville, FL; great-grandson, Isaac Burke of Wake Forest, NC; brothers, Shelton Jethro and his wife, Juanita of Vanceboro; Paul Jethro and his wife Liz of Greenville; Rev. Phillip Jethro and his wife, Darlene of Washington, NC; and sisters, Harriet Person and her husband, Tom of Plymouth; and Irene Wilson of Plymouth.

The deceased may be viewed at the Plymouth Church of God, 107 Truman Avenue, Plymouth, NC 27962. Friday, February 3, 2017 from 11AM until 1 PM prior to the funeral service which will begin at 1 PM with Rev. Jeff Person officiating. Interment will follow the service at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Plymouth.

Arrangements are by Bryan Funeral Service at Hampton Academy, Plymouth.
