John Oliver
Kramp
Feb 6, 1942 — Sep 30, 2026
Columbia
John (Jack) Oliver Kramp, 84, of Blairsville, GA (most recently residing in Columbia, NC), passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at his residence with family by his side.
Jack was born in Miami, FL, on February 6, 1942, to the late Oscar Booth Kramp and Helen Giordano Kramp. On August 12, 1967, he married Toby Lee Harris, who preceded him in death.
Jack was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather (Pappy), and great-grandfather. A proud veteran, he served his country in the U.S. Navy before dedicating 30 years of service as a police officer with the Miami Metro-Dade Police Department. Jack was also a beloved coach, mentoring countless youth in football and softball. Later in life, his most prized role was serving as one of Santa’s helpers. For many years, Jack and Toby were the official Mr. and Mrs. Claus for Union County, Georgia, bringing joy to countless children. He embodied the true spirit of Santa and Christmas through his kindness and immense generosity to everyone he met—especially waitresses (IYKYK). He was a steadfast role model and mentor to many.
He is survived by his sister, Ann Sheehan of Lilburn, GA; his brother, Oscar Kramp of Weston, FL; and sister, Laura Wilbanks of Miami, FL; his children: Tracy Anderson and husband Tommy of Columbia, NC, Angela Hall and husband Kevin of Hobe Sound, FL, Tad Kramp and wife Kelly of Archdale, NC, and Amy Southards and husband Brian of High Point, NC. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Perry II, Mary-Madalena, Cheyenne, and Lily; his great-grandchildren: Olivia, Perry III, and Warren; and many nieces and nephews whom he deeply loved. Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Toby; his grandson, John Brooks; and his parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Arrangements are by Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia, NC.
