Melvin Bryant
January 25, 1942 – April 27, 2020

Melvin Bryant, 78, of Engelhard, and more recently a resident of Cross Creek Health Care Center died, Monday, April 27, 2020.

He was the son of the late Early and Minnie Fulford Bryant and was born in Hyde County on January 25, 1942. He was married to the former Romonia Gibbs who survives.

Melvin worked in the seafood industry as a commercial fisherman.

In addition to his wife surviving are four sons, Hughey Bryant, Troy Bryant, Nicholas Shelton, and Chris Harris; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerrell Bryant, and one sister, Willie Mae Goodman.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Julius Bryant, Leon Bryant, Milbert Bryant, Robert Bryant, John Bryant, and Timothy Bryant and four sisters, Priscilla Credle, Naomi Bryant, Carrie Bryant, and Ardell Bryant.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
