Michael Paul Rhodes, 44, of 2050 Levels Road, Columbia, died unexpectedly early Sunday at his home.

Born in Chowan County, December 1, 1971, he was the son of the late Charles Mitchell and Doris Spencer Rhodes. Mike was a graduate of Columbia High School and was employed as a technician in auto body repair with Gibbs Collision. He was an avid race car driver and found great pleasure in spending time at the racetrack in Hertford.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5pm Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Northeast Drag Way, 1099 Lake Road, Hertford, NC. Those attending should identify themselves as attendees for the Memorial Service at the gate.

Surviving are a brother, Ricky C. Rhodes of Columbia; two sisters, Kathy R. Taylor and husband, Denny of Columbia and Penny R. Owens and husband, Mike of Columbia. He was preceded in death by a brother, Mitchell Ray Rhodes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that friends send memorials to help with funeral services to Mike Rhodes Memorial, P. O. Box 17, Columbia NC 27925.
