MILTON L. BRICKHOUSE, SR.
January 21, 1940 – May 5, 2016

Milton Lee Brickhouse, Sr., 76, of 176 Arbor Drive, Columbia, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones early Thursday, May 5, 2016.

Born in Tyrrell County, January 21, 1940, he was the son of the late Rodney Lee and Lillian F. Liverman Brickhouse. Milton loved his Family dearly and took great pride in hosting family get togethers and outings including fishing and RV trips. In his early career, he was a police officer with the Chesapeake Police Department. Always the consummate salesman, he spent most of his career working in the automobile and manufactured homes industries. He was a former member of the Masonic Order in Chesapeake. After many years in Virginia and Florida, Milton decided to move his Family to Currituck County to be closer to their families, returning back to his native Tyrrell County in 2004.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2016, in the Columbia Chapel of Bryan Funeral Service. Steve Bryan and Dr. Dineen Glasco, Hospice Chaplain, will officiate. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Hilltop Cemetery at Colington, Kill Devil Hills on the Outer Banks.

Surviving are his loving, caring and dedicated wife of 57 years, Karen Peterson Brickhouse; a son, Milton Lee Brickhouse, Jr. of Columbia; a daughter, Lisa Brickhouse Davis and husband, Jesse Davis of Manteo; a brother, Randolph E. Brickhouse of Currituck; a sister, Sharon Jean B. Dickerson of Jamesville; two grandchildren, Cloey Elizabeth Davis and Emily Ann Davis; a special family friend, Chip Breuer and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, sister and brother-in-laws.

Mr. Brickhouse was preceded in death by a brother, William A. Brickhouse in 2003.

The family will receive friends on Monday May 9, 2016 beginning at 11:30 am at Bryan Funeral Services until the funeral hour at 1pm. There will also be a graveside service at Hilltop Cemetery in Colington at 3pm.
