Mitchell Eric Snell
January 20, 1963 – February 16, 2021

Mitchell Eric Snell, 58, of Columbia, died on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Mitch was born in Tyrrell County on January 20, 1963, to Mitchell Evan Snell, who preceded him in death, and Gloria Faye West, who survives.

Mitch was a hard-working farmer who also enjoyed teaching others about farming.  He loved to cook for his family and friends.  His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and beekeeping.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021, in the chapel at Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia with Jay Hardison presiding. Burial will follow in the Snell Family Cemetery

In addition to his mother, Mitch is survived by his four daughters:  Alicia Renee Snell of Kill Devil Hills, Ashlee S. Cowan and husband Travis of Williamston, Hannah Lynn Snell of Elizabeth City, Dixie Leigh Snell of Windsor, VA; one son, Mitchell Evan Snell of Columbia; two grandchildren, Ami Snell-Hernandez and Trenton Cowan.
