Mollie Forbes O'Neal, 90, of Engelhard, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Currituck County, July 21, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Grace Newbern Forbes. She was married to George W. O'Neal who survives.
She was a member of Soule United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She served her community by helping with the Mobile Food Pantry at Soule thru the Food Bank of the Albemarle where she enjoyed the opportunity to make new friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Soule United Methodist Church. Pastor Jerald Craddock will officiate, burial will follow in the family plot in the Old Hollywood cemetery, Elizabeth City.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in Berry Hall at Soule United Methodist Church, Swan Quarter.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Al O'Neal of Engelhard and Freddie O'Neal and wife Ginger of South Mills; two grandchildren, Chad O'Neal and wife Magen of Camden, NC, Stacie O. Clark and husband Joey of Florence, SC; four great grandchildren, Wyatt Clark, Emma Grace Clark, Miles O'Neal and Brinson O'Neal.
She was preceded in death by two sisters Olive F. Bateman and Jackie F. Leary; two brothers, Ray Forbes and Tom Forbes.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Soule United Methodist Church c/o Sandra Tunnell, 803 Main Street, Swan Quarter, NC 27885 or the charity of one's choice.
Arrangements are by Bryan Funeral Service, Swan Quarter.
