Randy L. Schmidt September 7, 1958 – December 7, 2017

Randy Lee Schmidt, 59, of the Gull Rock community, died, Thursday, December 7, 2017 at his residence.

Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he was the son of the late Gilmore and Margorie Schmidt. He is survived by his beloved friend Kathy Gibbs of the home.

He loved and was involved with the former Bethany United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and shooting.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2017 at the Brooks family cemetery. Rev. George Merrick will officiate.

Additionally, he is survived by a son Randy Lee "J.R." Schmidt, Jr.; a daughter, Tabitha Schmidt, both of Chesapeake, VA; two brothers, Ron Schmidt of Lincoln, NE and Toby Schmidt of Iowa; a sister, Tami Schmidt of Florida.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ronny Dale Schmidt.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
