ROBERT S. ROSS
April 1, 1934 – April 10, 2017

Robert Spencer Ross, 83, of 24544 U. S. Highway 264, Swan Quarter, died on Monday, April 10, 2017, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

Born in Hyde County, April 1, 1934, he was the son of the late Charlie Warren and Olive Grace Spencer Ross. He was married to the former Elizabeth Ann Harris who survives. He spent his working years as a carpenter and boat builder, later spending some years as a commercial fisherman and often repaired outboard motors.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m Thursday at the family plot in Soule Cemetery with Raffael Farrow, Jr. officiating.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Lester W. Ross and wife, Martha of Swan Quarter; a daughter, Karen R. Carawan and her husband, Tony of Swan Quarter; grandchildren, Courtney Ann Carawan and Chase Alexander Carawan.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Engelhard, Fairfield or Swan Quarter Volunteer Fire Departments.

The family will receive friends at the home.
