D. RONALD BRICKHOUSE
August 11, 1941 – October 9, 2017

David Ronald Brickhouse, 76, of 64 Brickhouse Circle, Columbia, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday evening, October 9, 2017.

Born in Tyrrell County, August 11, 1941, he was the son of the late Ned Vernon and Peach Armstrong Brickhouse. He was married to the former Patricia Basnight who survives. He spent his entire career with N. C. Forestry and retired in 1999 as Tyrrell County Forest Ranger. He attended Gum Neck Free Will Baptist Church. His favorite hobby was being an avid fisherman.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Columbia Chapel of Bryan Funeral Service. Gerald Perry and Steve Bryan will officiate. Burial will follow in The Point Cemetery at Gum Neck.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 52 years are two daughters, Kim B. Davenport and husband, David and Rhoda B. Cooper and husband, Chris all of Columbia; a brother, Lawrence C. Brickhouse of Royal, Arkansas; a sister, Carolyn B. Davis of Portsmouth, VA; two grandchildren, Mindy Davenport and Dustin Cooper.

Preceding him in death were three siblings, Vernon Brickhouse, J. T. Brickhouse and Russell Brickhouse.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening and other times at the home.
