Sherry Williams Smithwick October 5, 1960 – November 3, 2026

Sherry Williams Smithwick, 66, of Ponzer, NC, passed peacefully in her home on the morning of November 3, 2026.

Sherry was born in Beaufort County on October 5, 1960, to the late Ashley Duane and Barbara Pugh Williams. She married Macon Smithwick, Sr., who survives.

Sherry enjoyed baking and spending time with her grandchildren. Sherry was a kind soul who never met a stranger. She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and will be deeply missed. In the words of Sherry, “Que Sera, Sera”

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2026, at Mt. Olive Church of Christ. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Macon Smithwick, Jr., and her daughter, Ashton Gibbs (Chase); four grandchildren, Tyler (Bayleecia), Bryson, Victoria, Oliver; two brothers, Orbin Williams (Michelle) of Engelhard and Gary Williams of Williamston; and a sister, Ashlyn W. Ballance (Pascal) of Fairfield.
