Warren G. Spencer
December 16, 1924 – March 3, 2017

Warren Gray Spencer, 92, of Swan Quarter, North Carolina (formerly of Burlington, New Jersey) died peacefully at home March 3, 2017.

Warren is survived by his loving wife Grace C. Spencer of 67 years and his two daughters, Marsha Danser and Kathryn Page. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Ashleigh Hatefi (Joe), grandson, Spencer Page, and step-grandson Rob Danser (Cecil).

Warren was blessed with great grandchildren whom he adored: Jordan, Zahra, Leanna, Drew, Cyrrus and Celine. He is also survived by eight sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Warren was predeceased by his three sisters and two brothers, all of North Carolina, and his son-in-law, Robert Danser of New Jersey.

Warren enlisted in the Air Force in 1943 and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant on January 1, 1964 after 20 years of service. His last base assignment was McGuire AFB (New Jersey) and the family found wonderful friends in Burlington, New Jersey and at the Broad Street United Methodist Church there. Warren was active as a Sunday School teacher, Lay Speaker and choir member, he was active in the Kiwanis Club of Burlington and the affiliated Key Club. A natural born salesman, Warren made sales a part of his second career. He retired for the second time as manager of Kohler Buick in Burlington, New Jersey. In 1975 Warren and Grace left New Jersey to travel but got no farther than Swan Quarter, North Carolina. There Warren became a local magistrate, managed a John Deere store for a short time, owned a shrimp boat, did handyman work, joined the fire department, and got into the insurance business. He managed the local Farm Bureau Insurance Agency until his "final" retirement. Warren lived a full life and was ready to meet his Lord.

The family is grateful for the support received from relatives, friends and caregivers.....especially C.W. and Debbie Cahoon (relatives and caregivers), Miss Cindy, Miss Wanda, Brandy, and a special caregiver, Denise Blount. Warren believed no one could cook breakfast or any other meal like Denise! A special thanks to the church family and Pastor Jerald Craddock.

A memorial service will be held for Warren at the Soule United Methodist Church, 20421 US Hwy 264, Swan Quarter on Saturday, April 22 at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow at the Swan Quarter Volunteer Fire Department.
