William Franklin Alexander Simmons
December 22, 1945 – September 3, 2026

William "Sandy" Franklin Alexander Simmons, 80, of Bulls Bay, Columbia, in Tyrrell County, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, September 3, 2026.

Sandy was born on December 22, 1945, to the late William Franklin and Tamasine Alexander Simmons. He was preceded in death by his older siblings, Metzel and Ted Simmons, and his sister, Paty Davenport.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary T. Simmons; his daughter, Catherine "Cassie" A.; and his grandson, William Liam White.

There will be a community farewell held for William Franklin Alexander Simmons, called Sandy or Coach, held on Sunday, Sept. 27th, at his home in Bulls Bay (144 N. Bay Drive) from 3-5pm. Please come, remember, and share memories.

In lieu of flowers or cards, the family asks that friends and loved ones simply keep Sandy and his family in their thoughts and hearts.
