William Curtis Smith
October 29, 1963 – March 17, 2022

William Curtis Smith, 58, formerly of Columbia and most recently of Edenton, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at the Chowan River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Edenton.

William Smith was born in Chowan County on October 29, 1963, to the late Eugene and Bobbie Jean Burnette Smith.

William had an outgoing personality and never knew a stranger.  He loved his church and community. He was a member of the Soundside Original Free Will Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Soundside Original Free Will Baptist Church, with Pastor Royce Reynolds officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service.

William is survived by his sister Barbara Ochoa and husband Richard of Edenton; two nieces Leslie Ochoa of Edenton and LeaAnna Ochoa of Edenton; and a great niece, Lily Elliott. He is also survived by maternal aunts, Sybil Knotts of Columbia, Lillian Spencer of Chesapeake, VA, and Jacqueline Smith of Roper.
