Agnes G. Carawan
April 23, 1937 - October 29, 2023

Agnes Gibbs Carawan, 86, of Scranton passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital in Washington, NC.

Agnes was born on April 23, 1937, in Hyde County to the late Clay W. and Lucille Deal Gibbs. She was married to Dexter Carawan who survives. 

She was a member of Mt. Olive Church of Christ and worked for forty-seven years as an administrative assistant for the North Carolina Forestry Service.

Per her request, a private graveside service will be held.

She is survived by two sisters, Betty G. Riddle of Dunn, NC, and Susie Boardwine (Bob) of Ponzer, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Gibbs.
