Andrew Burl Spruill

Andrew Burl Spruill, fearfully and wonderfully made, entered Heaven from his mother’s womb and was born silent on July 3, 2024.  Andrew was the precious son of Harry and Whitney Spruill and the baby brother of sweet Rosie. His arrival was anticipated with joy and hope and he was already immeasurably loved. 

Andrew did not draw a breath in this world, but his life will forever be remembered.  Andrew was swaddled, cuddled, rocked, and prayed over on the night of his birth. 

He was a beautiful baby boy and the resemblance to his big sister was uncanny. Andrew was named after and now resides in Heaven with his great-uncle, Burl Swain, who passed away in 2011.  We have no answers as to why this happened, and our hearts are shattered, but our faith remains in the God who created and holds our sweet boy in his strong but gentle hands. 

A private service for baby Andrew will be held at a later date. Whitney, Harry, and Rosie are staying at the home of Whitney’s parents while she recovers. Visitors are welcome. 

In addition to his parents and sister, Andrew is survived by his maternal grandparents, Darrell and Amy Swain, of Plymouth; his paternal grandfather, Ronald Spruill, of Plymouth; his uncles, Adam Swain and wife, Daisy, of Raleigh, Jarrod Spruill, of Plymouth; and his 3 cousins, Chloe, AJ, and Ava Swain, of Raleigh. 

Andrew was preceded in death and welcomed into Heaven by his paternal grandmother,  Renee Everett Spruill.
