Anthony Rhodes
October 10, 1962 – November 9, 2024

Anthony Rhodes, 62, of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at his home.

Anthony Rhodes was born in Tyrrell County, on October 10, 1962, to Delores Fay Hansen who preceded him in death and later he was reared by Joseph Carl and Daisy Tweedy Rhodes who also preceded him in death.

He served his country in the United States Army.  Later he went on to work as a commercial fisherman.  Anthony never went without speaking if he knew you. He loved to make people laugh and loved riding his Harley all his life. Above all Anthony loved his family and friends which meant the world to him.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the American Legion, 285 Legion Beach Road, in Columbia, with Vickie Woolard officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Rhodes; a son, Jacob Carl Rhodes of Columbia; a daughter, Allison Rhodes of Columbia, SC; step-daughters, Melanie Orlanda of California and Kristen Browning of California; step-children: Jeffrey Shaffer (Jillian) of Washington, NC and Lissia Moore of Pea Ridge; six sisters:  Mary Cannady of Rocky Mount, Marie R. Rice of Chocowinity, Linda R. Norman of Columbia, April J. Gammon of Columbia, and Darlene H. Rogers of Florida, Donna Ginn and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Brown.
