Barbara Knight Tansey, 79, of Belhaven, died, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at ECU Health Medical Center, Greenville.

Mrs. Barbara was born in Charlotte, NC, the daughter of the late Pete and Mabel Mullis. She married William B. Tansey, III, who preceded her in death.

She loved her quiet beach walks, shopping, and her beauty products. She worked as a deli clerk for the local Food Lion Corporation and was known for her delicious chicken. She adored her faithful companion Boo and enjoyed visiting with family during the Christmas holidays, but mostly she loved her granddaughter Mikayla and her artistic ability.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Mt. Olive Church of Christ in Ponzer, NC.

Surviving are two daughters, Pamela Ann Carter (Chris) of Columbus, Ga, and Sandra Lyle of Westminster, Sc; a son, Tad L. Sherrin of Florida; a grandson, Austin Lyle; and two granddaughters, Mikayla A. Beach and Natasha Lyle and her special friends Rodney and Karen Glass.
