Bennett Raymond Armstrong, Jr.
February 6, 1944 – February 9, 2025

Bennett Raymond Armstrong, Jr., 81, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville.

Raymond was born in Tyrrell County on February 6, 1944, and was the beloved son of the late Bennett Raymond and Ruth Owens Armstrong, Sr. He was a caregiver by nature who enjoyed looking after his family and friends, a true servant with a heart of gold.

Raymond was a member of the former Columbia Christian Church – Disciples of Christ, where he enjoyed studying the scriptures and singing his favorite hymns with the church choir.

A funeral service will be held in the Bryan Funeral Service Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Burial will follow at the family plot in the Soundside Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

He is survived by his brother, Claude Armstrong (Debbie) of Columbia, and two sisters, Delores A. Rogers (Terry) of Fletcher, NC, and Rosa Lee A. Harris of Newport NC; one nephew Glenn McCarty and two nieces, Lynn Perry and Becky Armstrong.
