Susan Beth Berry
November 11, 1967 – June 25, 2025

Susan “Beth” Berry, 57, of Greenville, NC, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem.

Beth was born in Beaufort County on November 11, 1967, to the late J.B. Berry and Pauline Moore Berry.

She served her country in the United States Air Force and later worked in the pharmaceutical industry in the computer validation department.

Beth is survived by her daughter, Jill—affectionately known as “Jilly”—who was the center of her world and the light of her life.

Beth loved her family above all else and poured herself wholeheartedly into the people she loved. She was known for her fierce loyalty, sharp wit, and warm heart. A natural listener and a thoughtful speaker, she was always there with a comforting presence and an honest word.

Beth was endlessly resourceful and deeply creative. With hands that were rarely still, she found joy in crafting and crocheting—especially the stuffed animals she lovingly made for her great-nieces and nephews. She approached each project with care and imagination, giving her creations a personal touch that reflected her generous spirit.

She also had a deep love for learning, often immersing herself in documentaries and news. Outside, she was happiest in the garden or anywhere near water—the beach and the river brought her a sense of calm and renewal. Nature was her quiet companion, and her connection to it ran deep.

Beth's infectious smile and love of witty one-liners made her a joy to be around. She was as strong-willed as she was kind, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and handmade treasures that will be cherished for generations.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Fairfield Cemetery with Andy Edge officiating. The family will gather with friends immediately following the service.

In addition to her daughter, Beth is survived by one sister and partner in crime, Lillian Berry of Greenville, one brother, Jerol Berry (Alisa) of Fairfield, many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Vincent Berry, and best friend Edie McLawhorn.
