December 30, 1935 – June 13, 2019

Catherine Victoria Hollowell Chesson, 83, of Plymouth, died Thursday, June 13, 2019 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Washington.

She was born in Gates County, December 30, 1935 to the late William H. and Frances Goodwin Hollowell. She was married to Harry Morgan Chesson who preceded her in death.

She was an active member of the Plymouth Church of Christ and worked as a nursing assistant in the medical field.

Following her retirement Mrs. Catherine devoted her time to her family caring for grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 17, 2019, at the Plymouth Church of Christ. Bob Moulden and Jay Hardison will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.

Surviving are two granddaughters, Kari C. Hardison and husband, Brian of Jamesville and Daina C. Lane and husband, Jonathan of Washington; two great-grandchildren , Dylan Hardison and Hannah Hardison; one step great-grandchild, Abby Lane; two brothers James Warren Hollowell and wife, Vicky,  W.H. Hollowell and wife, Mary Lou both of Sunbury, NC; two sisters, Mary Ellen Briggs of Sunbury, NC and Faye Wiley of New Bern.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Harry Morgan Chesson, Jr. and a sister, Edna Mae Parker.

The family will receive friends at the Plymouth Church of Christ Family Life Center following the service and other times at the home of Brian and Kari Hardison.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Plymouth Church of Christ.
