Clifton D. Gibbs
September 27, 1957 -November 19, 2025

Clifton Douglas Gibbs, 68, of High Point, NC, died, Wednesday, 19, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro.

Clifton was born in Beaufort County on September 27, 1957, to the late Rexie Royce Gibbs and Mavis Alenda Gibbs, who survives. He was married to the former Judith Smarzinski, who also survives. 

Cliff loved his family, especially his three grandchildren, Laina, Archer, and Brynlee, and they loved him just as much.  He loved hunting in Hyde County and saltwater fishing on his boat.  If you wanted to go fishing, you never had to ask him twice! He will be missed by his family and friends.

Before retiring, Cliff had a long and successful career in the commercial  HVAC industry. He worked on many of the hospitals and universities in this area and was proud of the work he did. 

A celebration of life and gathering of friends will take place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge of High Point, 3202 N Main Street, High Point, NC 27265.

Inurnment of remains and a memorial will be held at a later date in the spring of 2026 at Soule Cemetery in Swan Quarter,  NC.

Surviving in addition to his mother and wife, is a son, Daniel Gibbs of Stokesdale; two daughters, Meghan Pratt (Scott) and Sioham Crum (Jason) both of High Point; three grandchildren, Laina, Archer(Meghan), Brynlee (Daniel) and two sisters, Melanie Lynn Gates (Bruce) of Goldsboro, Alenda C. Pereira (Sean) of Franklinton. 

The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff of the Moses Cone Memorial Hospital 4N ICU for their professionalism and compassion.

Cliff was also an organ donor, his willingness to donate has been a beautiful gift for three other families, and they are very proud of him. A special thank you to Kelly Boyd and her team from HonorBridge.
