David Patrick
July 16,1946 – August 18,2023

David Patrick, 77, of Columbia, died Friday August 18, 2023, at ECU Health Medical Center, Greenville.

Born in Tyrrell County, he was the son of the late Ralph W. and Rosalee R. Patrick of Gum Neck.  He was married to the late JoAnn Basnight Patrick and Shirley Patrick, both who preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers Don W. Patrick and Ralph W. Patrick Jr. and his sisters Olee Patrick and Gail Patrick.

David loved to fish, hunt, and carve decoys.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  He was a proud Vietnam Veteran who bravely served his country.  David never knew a stranger and was always around to help anyone in need.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia Chapel.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

David is survived by his brother Gregory Patrick, nephew Ronnie Newlin, both of Washington NC; nieces Melissa Winstead, husband Dayne and son Jaxson K. Winstead of Washington; Billie Jo McConnell, husband Jerry and children Stephanie Boyd and Will Boyd of New Bern; step-children Bruce Emmons of Creswell, NC; Charles Basnight and wife Jennifer; Terry Dail and husband Chuck all of Wilmington; grandchildren Nathan Emmons of Creswell; Noah Dail, Cameron Dail, Connor Dail, and Rori DeLiscia Basnight all of Wilmington.
