David Arnold Voliva
April 30, 1939 – July 28, 2021
David Arnold Voliva, 82, of Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.
Mr. Voliva was born in Tyrrell County, on April 30, 1939, to the late Robert Oakley and Jessie G. Everton Voliva. Surviving is his wife of fifty-nine years, Ann Spencer Voliva.
David honorably served his country in the United States Army and then spent his working years as a dependable carpenter with a strong work ethic. He had a reputation as the best carpenter and painter around Tyrrell County. David was a quiet person but loved people. His hobbies included deer hunting and his love for Mustangs.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the Sandy Acres Freewill Baptist Church, with James Spencer and Daryl Kelly presiding. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by sons, David Eric Voliva and Chad Evans Voliva of Columbia; daughter, Davona Davenport of Columbia, adopted daughter, Katie Boyd; nine grandchildren: Tabatha Henry, Bryan Henry and wife Amy, Casey Voliva and wife Krysta, Brianne Sawyer and husband Zachary, Spencer Voliva, TJ Davenport and wife Amber, Jessica Combs and husband Dustin, Keiley Davenport, and Skylar Swain; and sixteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Gary Allen Voliva of Columbia.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Wayne Voliva.
