Dianne H. Ward
February 20, 1951 – August 28, 2024
Dianne Harrison Ward, 73, of Plymouth, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Duke Hospice, Hock Family Pavilion in Durham.
Dianne was born in Tarboro, NC on February 20, 1951, to the late Frank and Mildred Tilghman Harrison. She was married to Winston Ward for over 50 years, who survives.
During her working years, she worked as a payroll clerk at Cape Fear Valley Hospital. She loved cooking, freezing and canning foods from the garden, camping and most of all spending time with family. She made sure to keep up with all of the family, and never let a birthday go by without a phone call. She served those she loved selflessly. In her final days she was surrounded by her family at one of her favorite places, the beach.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Columbia Missionary Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Prudencio Casas. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Azalea Memorial Gardens.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Stephanie Miller and husband Andrew of Sanford, NC; three grandchildren: Joshua Coley (Brittney), Jacob Coley (Shelby) and Madison Weaver (Hunter); seven great-grandchildren: Evelyn Coley, Dean Coley, Penelope Coley, Harrison Coley, Johnathan Coley, Rhett Weaver, Saylor Weaver; two brothers, Kenneth Harrison (Frances) of Chocowinity, and Tracey Harrison (Angela) of Tarboro, and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are by Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia.
