Dorothy Marie Modlin Davis, 62, of Swan Quarter, died, Sunday, February 16, 2020, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital, Washington.
Dorothy was born in Beaufort County, October 17, 1957, to Burley Roscoe Modlin, Sr., who preceded her in death and Mary Joyce O’Neal Modlin who survives. She was married to Charles “Chuck” Lee Davis who also survives.
Dorothy worked for the Hyde County Public School System as a bus driver for over twenty-five years. She loved fishing, camping, spending time with her family and being around children.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at the family plot in Fulford Cemetery. Phil Emmert will officiate.
In addition to her mother and husband surviving is a son Clayton Davis and wife Jacqueline of Engelhard; a daughter, Jessica Davis of Swan Quarter; two grandchildren, Emily Victoria De Jesus, and William Clayton Davis; two brothers, B. Roscoe Modlin, Jr. and wife Lynn of the Rose Bay Community, Shelly Modlin and wife Angie of Washington; two sisters, Louise M. Smith and Lee of Elizabeth City, Cindy Dodge of the Kilkenny Community and a brother in law, William Lowe of Scranton.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Davis and a sister, Jenny Lowe.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
